JAIPUR :
The City was founded in 1727 AD by Maharaja Jai Singh Who moved his capital from Amber to Present site. Besides its own numerous Places of Interest, Jaipur forms an excellent base to explore the enchanting surroundings: Ajmer and Pushkar, Famous for the Dargah of Salim Chisti and the Temple of Brahma ; Shekhawati, The region of Fabulous frescoes and havelis; The Desert fastness' whose colour and architecture defies their harsh Surroundings.

UDAIPUR :
The legendary Ranas of Mewar, who traced the back their proud ancestry to the Sun, First held away over the region from their 7th Century stronghold, the great Fort of Chittorgarh. In 1586, Maharana Udai Singh founded the new Capital on the Banks of the lake Pichola and Named it Udaipur, the abod of udai! Or the 'City of Sunrise'.

JODHPUR :
The origin of the Jodhpur is antiquated in Mahabharata. Since the 13th Century, it has been Known as Marubesh or Marwar- A Desert of sand made immortally the Rathores. Interestingly, Rathores claim direct descent from the epic-hero Lord Rama. The last ruler-still alive- is 41st in direct line of succession. It was in 1459 AD that Rao Jodha, the Chief of the Rathore clan of Rajputs built the city. Today two forts- a fairly medieval one and the other a marvel in modernity-mark the city.

JAISALMER :
It is a gilded fantasy juxtaposed in a formidable desert. To say the least, it is a shimmer of sand amidst the sun soaked sky. For the hues thrown up both by the rising and the setting sun, Jaisalmer is worth a visit. To crown the glory or the Temples; the majestic forts. Legend has it that Lord Krishna had once prophesied that a descendant of his clan - the Yadav's- would raise the capital of his Kingdom here.

BIKANER :
Of all the desert cities Bikaner has the singlar distinction of being a mighty trade point on the traditional caravans which moved between Africa, West Asia towards East and Far East several Centuries back. Rao Bikaji Founded the city in 1488 . Incidentally, he was one of the descendants of Jodhaji- the founder of Jodhpur city. Rao Bikaji dynasty reigned supreme for four and a half Centuries.
